SOLIDIGITAL is an interregional applied research project developed within the framework of the European program of cross-border cooperation created to promote sustainable development in the border territory of Spain, France, and Andorra (POCTEFA). Its objective is to leverage the advantages of digitalization to enhance access, quality, and effectiveness of solidarity services supporting people in poverty, with the aim of more effectively combating situations of vulnerability and social precariousness in this cooperation space. The project is carried out in 6 territories, in addition to the Andorran territory: three in Catalonia (Girona, Lleida, and Barcelona) and three in France (Eastern Pyrenees, Ariege, and Upper Garonne). The collaborative research work is directed towards three major beneficiary categories of the cross-border cooperation space: people in poverty, public and private social services that attend to them, and the social professionals of these services, based on the exchange, interconnection, and adapted implementation to the reality of each territory of a set of existing digital tools in Spain and France (Soliguide, Nidus, and Reconnect). As a result of the project, it is expected to facilitate and reinforce processes of social inclusion, access to the labor market, and community participation of the population in situations of precariousness.
