Definition and implementation of an Innovation Area in Andorra

The manager of Andorra Research and Innovation, Vanesa Arroyo, participates in the 41st World Conference of the International Association of Science and Technology Parks (IASP), which will be held between 24 and 27 September in Nairobi (Kenya). This year, under the title 'Demography, Entrepreneurship and Technology: Defining the Frontiers of the Economy of the Future', speakers will discuss the impact that demographic changes can have, while exploring ways to combat the global challenges facing the world today.

Arroyo's speech, on September 27th from 9.15 am, will focus on the definition and implementation of an Area of Innovation in Andorra. The Principality, despite its small size and geographical limitations, has made significant progress in many sectors, especially in tourism and activities related to mountain sports. Although tourism continues to be the core of its economy, Andorra has diversified proactively, investing in sectors such as telecommunications, energy, sports and health.

The AR+I's manager will explain to the international community the country's commitment to innovation and its collaborative approach, based on the quadruple-helix model, which involves society, government and public institutions, academy and the private sector, with a specific focus on users. Arroyo will also talk about the creation in Andorra of the first country-wide laboratory and the approval of the National Strategy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which focuses on the development of talent and the improvement of infrastructures.
