The REMAS project (gestión del Riesgo de EMisiones de gAses de efecto invernadero en incendioS forestales) develops a model for quantifying the risk of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, to include this indicator in management policies and programs of forest fires. REMAS develops the mapping of carbon capture and storage (CCS) and proposes restoration measures that include standardized action protocols, such as post-fire measures that minimize damage and accelerate the recovery of carbon sinks. This will improve the coordination and effectiveness of prevention and restoration plans that will include the management of GHG emissions from forest fires in the SUDOE regions, which are the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
Andorra Research + Innovation participates in REMAS as an associate partner, acting as a node for the transfer of knowledge available at a national level. The REMAS project (SOE3/P4/E094) is funded by the Interreg Sudoe Program.
