Andorra presents the project to develop a country-wide innovation area at the World Congress of Science Parks and Innovation Areas
The manager of AR+I highlights “the importance” of establishing international partnerships, with the signing of a collaboration agreement with Konza Technopolis (Nairobi)
Andorra participates in the 41st World Conference of Science Parks and Innovation Areas (IASP 2024), which is being held from Tuesday until this friday in Nairobi (Kenya), with a delegation led by the Secretary of State for Enterprise, Economic Diversification and Innovation, Marc Saura, and the director of Andorra Research and Innovation (AR+I), Vanesa Arroyo.
Saura valued the presentation of Andorra's innovation model on a national scale, which is being developed with AR+I, as “an important step to highlight Andorra's current innovative ecosystem, as well as the vision for the future that the Government is projecting in this area”.
During the congress, Vanesa Arroyo presented the project for the development of an innovation area in Andorra. In her speech, the AR+I manager highlighted “the importance” of establishing international alliances, such as the signing of a collaboration agreement that Andorra Research and Innovation has formalized today with Konza Technopolis, which “will allow the development of open innovation solutions at an international level, addressing global problems with the collaboration of experts from different areas and countries”. According to Arroyo “it is essential to follow what is being carried out in other countries in order to apply these methodologies to the Andorran reality, with the aim of creating an environment that, with the sum of the public and private sector, promotes economic, scientific, educational and social development”.
Andorra has been a member of the international network of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation for two years. The 41st World Conference of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP 2024) brought together more than 350 members from 78 countries. The meeting was attended by international experts and aimed to explore the role of science parks and innovation areas in empowering regions such as Africa and Asia to harness the potential of young people and foster entrepreneurship.
