The participatory session of the Environmental Strategy for Sustainability brings together 25 people

The participatory session of the Environmental Strategy for Sustainability, promoted by the working group formed by representatives of the Ministries of the Environment, Agriculture and Sustainability, Foreign Affairs, Education and Higher Education, Public Administration and Citizen Participation with the collaboration of Andorra Research + Innovation and Sustainable Andorra, brought together 25 people this Wednesday.

The participative day was held at the Government Administrative Building and was attended by representatives of various actors in the country, such as the Association of Mountain Guides, the Association of Mountain Banners, the Federation of Hunting and Fishing, the ski sector, such as Ski Andorra and the environmental area of Pal-Arinsal and Soldeu El Tarter. Also participating were representatives from the municipalities of Sant Julià and Ordino, Casa de la Muntanya, Vall del Madriu-Perafita-Claror, teachers from the Andorran Training Area, Col-legi Sant Ermengol and Col-legi Sagrada Família, EFPEM, Universitat Carlemany and Universitat Europea, the Montessori Association and UNESCO.

The session lasted almost two hours, during which a presentation was made to the participants, and the content of the Pyrenean Strategy for Environmental Education for Sustainability and Valorization of the Heritage, which emerged from the POCTEFA ADNPYR, was explained. Afterwards, a debate was opened on the aspects that were highlighted in the Pyrenean Strategy and reflections were shared on questions such as, for example, what work is already being developed in Andorra in the field of environmental education? From which sectors? What do we know about the work that is being done...? From here, the participants have grouped in 4 small groups to define what proposals and concrete actions they considered that should be worked around environmental education in our country.

Finally, the proposals of each group were put together. The Secretary of State for the Environment, Marc Rossell, thanked the attendees for their participation and expressed his interest in continuing to work together in a participatory manner.

From Andorra Research + Innovation we encourage to continue adding contributions for the elaboration of the Andorran Strategy for Environmental Education for Sustainability, visiting the web www.visc.ad and answering the online survey, as well as contributing with the proposals that are considered convenient.
